The default mode, Hybrid, combines torque from both the 2.0L turbocharged engine and the electric motors. This combination provides maximum horsepower, instant torque and the best acceleration. Electric power is consumed first.
ELECTRIC MODE
When the battery has more than a 1% charge, it can run in Electric Mode. This allows for nearly zero tailpipe emissions up to highway speeds. The vehicle can run in this mode for up to 21 miles.

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xes E-Selec Drive Modes
Optimize every ride with the Wrangler 4xes E-Selec driving modes. These drive modes put you in control when it comes to how your vehicle is using its electric power and they are called Hybrid, eSave, and Electric Mode. The default mode is Hybrid Mode. Hybrid Mode combines torque from both the 2.0L turbocharged engine and the electric motors. The combination of these provides your Wrangler 4xe with instant torque, maximum horsepower, and its best acceleration performance. When you're in Hybrid Mode your vehicle's electric power is consumed first. Electric Mode can be used when your vehicle has a battery charge of more than a 1%. This mode is perfect for up-to-highway speeds, allows for nearly zero tailpipe emissions, and can run in this mode for up to 21 miles.
The Wrangler 4xes Regenerative Braking and Recharging
With the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe you can enjoy the perks of its regenerative braking system. When decelerating and braking this allows for your vehicle's battery to be charged. The Max Regeneration feature remaps the accelerator pedal. This is to command a more aggressive regen at low pedal positions and allows you to slow down the vehicle without having to use the brake pedal. Although, for a complete stop you must use the brake pedal. Recharging your Wrangler 4xe has been made simple. With an available Level II charger the battery can be fully recharged in about 2 hours. With the Level I charger that is included with the Wrangler 4xe takes up to 12 hours to fully charge.
